A few pictures of the Hall.  On days like this we would not be anywhere else in the world.  Running the Hall can be very hard work but it is so rewarding.  We've got a wedding tomorrow and I can hear some of the guests outside on the terrace chatting and laughing...we love moments like these.

 

First blog post

Good evening everyone...
 
This feels a little like wandering into a foreign country, without a map, in the dark!!  This first post is an experiment, hopefully I'll figure it out as I go along and get better at this stuff!
 
I think I should start by introducing myself and filling in a few of the gaps.  The point of this blog is to keep you up to date with what's going on at Willington Hall.  So much is changing and we want you to know about it! 

So...we're the Begbie family.  We have a long & very successful family history in the hospitality industry, from The Stafford Hotel in Chester owned and run by Diana & her mother, to Rowton Hall owned and run by Diana & her husband Stuart to Willington Hall where you'll find Simon (Stuart & Diana's son) and I today.  We've been involved with Willington Hall since 1999 when Stuart & Diana got bored of retirement and took on a 'small project' (!) and we've lived here for the last 4 years.  Stuart & Diana also have 2 daughters, Moira and Alex, who live in London.  They also play huge roles in the design, direction and leadership of the Hall.

We are in a really exciting times at the moment, we're doing some huge projects in the Hall from renovation to installing a state of the art biomass heating system.  We've also had some great additions to our team in the last few weeks that we'd love to tell you about.  We will...when we've got the hang of it!
